CMA Fest 2017 kicks off in downtown Nashville

Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend CMA Fest in downtown Nashville this weekend.

A full day of music is planned for the first day of the festival Thursday, leading up to the big show at Nissan Stadium. Downtown will be flooded with crowds enjoying free activities and music.

“We have been working together to make a plan that is going to accommodate all of the large crowds, making sure they are comfortable, making sure they are safe, making sure this is a family-friendly atmosphere, and making sure they can listen to some great music but also watch some great hockey,” said Mayor Megan Barry.

The lineup for Thursday night’s show at Nissan Stadium is Kenny Rogers, Brett Eldredge, Cole Swindell, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, and Luke Bryan.

There are seven different stages set up around downtown, including those inside the Music City Center.

Free shuttles will run from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. every day through Sunday between major event sites.
