Turkey Hunters Reminded of Harvest Check-in Procedures

NASHVILLE — With spring turkey hunting season quickly approaching, sportsmen are reminded of the various methods to check in their birds. All harvested turkeys must be checked in by the end of the calendar day. Turkeys can be checked in on the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s website by clicking here or on the “TWRA On the Go” smartphone app or at a check station.   For sportsmen who do not have web/smartphone access, the TWRA suggests using a friend’s phone or computer to check in your harvest. If this is not possible, sportsmen can check in their harvest at a check station. Please note that due to a vendor change, there is about a 20 percent decrease in the number of check stations across the state. An updated check station list is available on the TWRA website by clicking here or by calling the TWRA regional office. Once the turkey is checked in, the hunter will obtain a confirmation number. Hunters should record the confirmation number by saving a digital copy such as a PDF or a screen shot, printing a copy, or writing the number down on any piece of paper. The confirmation number must be available for inspection by TWRA personnel until the time of final processing.
