The festival kicked off Friday night with a free concert. On Saturday, the festival began at 9 a.m. with a parade beginning at Russell Street and South 12th Street, ending at the center of Five Points.

Contests are held for the ugliest tomato, tiniest tomato, various costume categories and best bloody mary.

Food trucks and vendors will populate the tomato-adorned area and there will tons of activities for children.

Now in its 13th year, the festival is consistently named by travel magazines as among the best in the nation.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Shelby Park and Bottoms.
